Ibeju-Lekki Local Government Council, through the office of the Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation (WAPA) today, presented cash gifts to people living with disabilities.
Representing the Council Chairman of Ibeju Lekki Local Government, Hon Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, was the Supervisor for Health, Alhaji Tajudeen Oniwonlu as the Councillor representing Ward B (Ibeju 2), Hon. Babatunde Ogungbo was also in attendance.
Speaking at the occasion, Hon. Tajudeen Oniwonlu affirmed that in line with Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa’s policies on Social Security and economy, the programme has been sacrosanct since the inception of the administration. Hon. Oniwonlu further acknowledged that it is indeed an act of human kindness as the Council Boss is ensuring that People Living With Disabilities (PLWD) are made to smile in the yuletide season.
Also speaking was the Head of Department, Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation (WAPA), Mrs. Apena Tawakalitu, who thanked the special people as she admonished them to be consistent in prayers for the Council Chairman in order to succeed in his God-given task.
Many of the beneficiaries testified as they acknowledged that it has been a yearly routine as Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa has always put smiles on their faces while also praying for him to continue to succeed.
The cash gift programme for beneficiaries of People Living With Disabilities has been ongoing for the past three years as it is in line with the four point agenda of the Olowa led administration.
