The Council Chairman of Ibeju Lekki Local Government Area, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa today presented the budget to the Legislative Arm of the Council, which is, tagged BUDGET OF DEVELOPMENTAL GROWTH, WEALTH CREATION AND FISCAL SUSTAINABILITY
Hon. Olowa acknowledged that the budget is intended to impact renewed energy towards achieving, rebuilding and restoration of the general development of Ibeju Lekki Local Government, a vision which the administration has stuck to in line with provisions of development plan since its inception as it keeps ensuring the vision manifests in achieving global goals.
The leader of the legislative Council, Hon. Mojeed Oluwafemi Olayinka while receiving the budget, acknowledged that in line with the 1999 constitution as amended, it is the statutory duty of the legislature to receive the budget from the executive arm as it goes through scrutiny as regards the oversight function of the legislature while assuring that, the entire legislators would review the budgetary details and grant it a speedy passage.
The 2023 budget was of great performance as the Local Government Council earmarked resources for personnel costs, (Teachers, non-pensionable, political office holders and so on), overhead costs which represented the day to day activities of the Council, capital expenditure which represents the total sum for project financing, maintenance of assets of the Council and payment of payables. In that same year, all sectors were touched by the current administration in line with the four point agenda of Economic Development, Infrastructural Development, Social Development, and Security and Environmental sustainability.
Present at the budget presentation were Hon. Oladele Ajayi, Member, Lagos State House of Assembly representing Ibeju Lekki Constituency 2, Councillors, Traditional Rulers, Supervisors and the Council Management.
