NIGERIA IMMIGRATION SERVICE (NIS) LAGOS STATE COMMAND PAYS COURTESY VISIT TO IBEJU LEKKI COUNCIL CHAIRMAN, CALLS FOR SENSITIZATION OF CITIZENS

Earlier today, the Comptroller of Immigration, Lagos State Command, Engr. Bala Dangana (pcc, fnse), accompanied by the Deputy Comptroller B.K Danja in charge of ECOWAS/African Affairs, the Public Relations Officer, Lagos State Command, Deputy Superintendent of Immigration, Ego Osemene and other officers and men met with the Council Chairman of Ibeju Lekki Local Government, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa.

Speaking during the familiarization visit, Comptroller Bala Dangana emphasized the need for greater synergy between the Local Government and the Security agencies such as the Nigerian Immigration Services .

He narrated how the synergy helped in the arrest of illegal Sudanese immigrants from Ibeju recently and sought for more support from the local government as the agency is in need of office space, accommodation, patrol vehicles etc for its personnel.

The Council Boss expressed appreciation for the visit and indeed commended the Comptroller’s style of leadership. “The new approach of reaching out to the grassroots will yield more results in the area of internal security” in the words of the Council Boss.

Hon Olowa, however, pledged to support the NIS in the areas of office space, accommodation, and aggressive advocacy and sensitization programmes.

The NIS boss was later taken on a tour of the new secretariat building by the Council Chairman
